Studying Engineering in Russia
Traditionally Russia is considered to be one of the greatest countries of the world in teaching engineering sciences. The engineering school traditions made it possible for us to be the first in space and build tens of thousands of high-tech plants and factories.
Here are just a few (out of many thousands!) inventions made by engineers in Russia:
• Nikolay Zhukovsky and Sergey Chaplygin – founding fathers of aerodynamics as a science.
• Boris Rosing – remote imaging (invention of television)
• Boris Byzov – creation of synthetic rubber
• Vladimir Levkov – hovercraft
• Pavel Tager – optical sound recording
• Oleg Losev – inventing light emitting diode (LED)
• Boris Stechkin – constructor of air-breathing engine
• Konstantin Khrenov – inventor of underwater welding
• Mikhail Tikhonravov – constructor of multistage rocket
• Igor Kurchatov – creation of the world's first nuclear power station
• Sergei Korolev – construction of the first artificial satellite, launching a man in space
Universities offer a broad range of engineering specialties from civil engineering to aerospace. The most popular specialties are Construction, Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Electronics, Transport, Energy, Metallurgy, etc.
Graduates of STEM are in high demand worldwide in the labor market!
The vast majority of programs include industrial internships in the specialty, which gives students a real opportunity to gain not only theoretical, but also practical knowledge during their studies.
